Basic Filing Operation within Outlook

This article will help you understand how to file e-mails using Topaz Filer.

When Outlook starts, you will be prompted to logon (see Logging on to Topaz Filer). After you have done this, to the left of the usual list of items in your inbox you will see the filing model. (This is typically a list of the clients and projects that your organisation is currently working on.)

The tree is organised into clients, and then you can drill-into each client to view the projects for that client. (Your system may be setup to show only active projects and active clients, not all projects and clients - ask your IT team if you have a query.) The icon that looks like a stack of blue papers is the project. To file an e-mail against a project, drag one or more e-mails from the tree and drop them onto the project you want.

The e-mail will then disappear from the Inbox. This is your indication that the e-mail has been sent to the server for filing.
